Exotic

Enjoy the following long play nature ambience recordings. These particular recordings are what I'd call the unexpected, tropical and exotic languages of nature. I play these recordings when seeking illumination or inspiration for my art or garden! We will be continually adding fresh nature ambience as we record and process the audio.

Sunrise Moorhen Calls

Just over five minutes of early morning Common Gallinule, Gallinula galeata, calls from Lighthouse road area in the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. This audio clip was recorded just after 5 am in April of 2021 using a Sony PCM recorder with Clippy 272 microphones, windbubbles and a dry bag.

Thirty minutes of misty morning bird calls deep in the coastal marshes and featuring Cormorant's guttural, blackbird's chirpy calls, Gallinule's cry and happy wrens. To some, the raspy, hooked bill Cormorant call may sound like an alligator. Cormorants have adopted several tall pines around this pond as a rookery of sorts, contributing blankets of droppings to the vegetation below.
